Residue of Light
Documentation in architecture is primarily concerned with procuring a finished built object, or a means to an end. This has restricted the practice of architecture from being a part of an extended reflective process and has confused the understanding of the word ‘documentation’ which usually describes a document of something to exist, as opposed to something that will exist. This has centred the 1:1 built as the end point of design, and hence excludes a serious consideration of the post factum from the discourse.
